Staying Healthy and Safe During the Holidays

The holiday season is a time for celebration, connection and reflection. However, it can also be a period of stress, overindulgence and vulnerability to illness. Balancing festive fun with self-care and mindfulness is key to enjoying this special time. Here are some tips to help you stay healthy and safe throughout the holidays.

1.        Practice Mindful Eating – Holidays often come with an abundance of delicious foods, from rich desserts to savory main dishes. While it’s okay to indulge, try to do so mindfully. For portion control, opt for smaller portions to enjoy a variety of dishes without overdoing it
2.        Stay Active – Staying active can boost your energy levels and mood
3.        Practice Good Hygiene – Holiday gatherings can increase the risk of spreading germs. Protect yourself and others by washing your hands frequently, especially before eating or after touching shared surfaces.
4.        Manage Stress – To manage stress effectively, be sure to prioritize self-care. Dedicate time to activities that help you relax, such as reading, meditating or enjoying a warm bath.
5.        Stay Safe While Traveling – Include a first-aid kit, extra medications and snacks and water for emergencies. It’s also important to adhere to local and international travel advisories and health guidelines.
